Frequently Asked Questions
What is a virtual run?
A virtual run can be performed anytime within the calendar month of the event. All registrants receive a medal for their efforts and solidarity with their fellow runners across the country.
Can anyone participate?
Yes. All are welcomed to participate regardless of age or skill level. (Anyone under 18 should register only with parental or adult supervision.)
What’s this “Tribe” business?
Our tribe is what we call our community of runners. We are all united by our desire to be active and to raise funds for amazing charities.
How far do I have to run?
You can run as far as you want. The goal of our events is to connect our participants into a national community of like-minded individuals that come together to support some amazing charities. That being said, we recommend that you chose a standard distance like 5K, 10K or Half Marathon.
Can I walk or hike if I can’t run?
Absolutely. We are all about using the platform of health and wellness to raise money for some amazing charities. Run or walk, we will still celebrate your achievement!
Do I have to report that I ran?
Reporting that you completed the event is not required but we will have a link on each registration page for you to record that you completed the event. We also encourage you to share your journey on our social media channels and let us celebrate your achievements.
How much of each registration fee goes to charity?
$5 of every registration goes to the charity of the month. No exceptions.
How are the monthly charities selected?
We use a careful selection process to select charities that are working hard to effect meaningful positive change in the world and embody the values of our community of runners. We are not accepting charity applications at this time for new events.
Is my registration fee tax deductible?
Unfortunately, no. While a portion of the registration fee will be donated to charity, Move for a Cause is not a 501(c)(3) organization and we are unable to provide tax receipts to event registrants.
